OHS was initially built on the need to safely manage asbestos when the danger of that substance was first realised.

OHS was a pioneer in asbestos management and this was recognised by the HSE awarding the company the Health and Safety Executives first ever Supervisory Licence.

OHS Limited is in its 30th year and was founded in the early 1980’s by Martin Penny who is still the company owner and chairman. The Managing Director John Horsfall has worked for OHS for over twenty years and as an ex ATAC Chairman is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable executives working in the health and safety industry.

OHS opened modern prestigious offices and laboratories attached to the Bradford University Science Park which reflected the technical and scientific approach that OHS had to the management of initially asbestos and then quickly all health safety and environmental issues.
